IRCTC sucks. Bigtime.

IRCTC sucks. Bigtime.

The workflow built into the UI is so pathetic, that the page that is most seen on web clients all over the world is the one that says "Service Unavailable". And the backend - did they even hear about the concepts of designing to handle load efficiently?

Recently, Yatra and MakeMyTrip started to handle ticket booking on their website and Me thought the UI part was sort of plugged. IRCTC then conveniently passed a rule that tatkal bookings on yatra and such will not be available between 8 and 9 AM. Ever seen a tatkal booking available after 9?

UI framework, workflow, load scenarios, policies. They are pathetic in every part of the application.

And worst, we have to put up with it.

Gather from a friend that Infosys developed this website. If there's any truth in that, may God help customers of Infy!

yes,I have faced this issues several times... do u have a fix for this...
several times I feel like HACK it and make it working :-)

Very poor...during 8am to 9am... u just cannot book ticket in tatkal. Give it to IBM,they will make it transparent.
